This video shows the creative process behind the caricature I've done for the Portuguese football champion season 2016-17, Benfica.
The sketching phase was done on iPad pro, using the Procreate app, and the coloring on an iMac, using Photoshop. This is because, for me, being used to work on a Wacom intuos tablet for almost 20 years, the Procreate isn't a match for Photoshop when it comes to final art. It's great for sketching, way better than doing it on the intuos (hey, my pockets don't go so deep to buy me a Cintiq...), but the Procreate app is still behind Photoshop when it comes to final art. This is my opinion, after all, it's been almost 2 decades of Photoshop against less than a year on Procreate...
I've made this video because, almost by mistake, I discovered that Procreate had a time-lapse recording feature that saves everything you do. Unfortunately, I found that after the sketches were already done, so the video's quality is kind of low. This is the default level of video quality. I've changed it to 4K now, so the future videos I'll make will have better quality.
The soundtrack on the video is Benfica's anthem, called "Ser benfiquista", by Luis Piçarra.
Hope you enjoy it.
